The
Institute of Metaphysical Humanistic Science (IMHS) is an educational
program of the
International Church of Metaphysical Humanism, Inc.
(ICMH) a
global, online
metaphysical ministry based in North Port, Florida, USA. The Church teaches
a human-centered spiritual philosophy called Metaphysical Humanism
that is designed to build up and empower people by focusing on and
reminding them of the indomitable power of their human spirit.
Since 2010, IMHS has set a new standard in non-academic, metaphysically-based degrees and courses that teach a variety of metaphysical topics as well as
valuable life-skills that can be used immediately. Our metaphysical degree program is aimed at those who are looking for a more
objective and grounded metaphysical curriculum. We actually go far beyond
the more typical metaphysical teachings in that we also focus on practical metaphysical concepts which
provide our students with the knowledge they need to remain grounded
and successful in their chosen field. We take
great care to disseminate quality information that empowers the human
spirit and allows individuals to get past the things that hold them
back.
A common expression is "You get what you pay for," and while this may be true in most cases, it is, in fact, not true with IMHS—you
actually get much more than you pay for. Read the information about our degree program on this site and we think you'll agree that our
curriculum
is unique and exciting. In short, the IMHS Degree Program changes
lives!
Our Mission
To
raise the awareness and vibrational level of humanity and to change
lives positively by teaching grounded metaphysical concepts and
practical life-skills that allow people to get past the things that
hold them back thus empowering them to live happier, more enriched,
and more enlightened lives with a view to self-completeness and
self-actualization.
Our Vision
To
become widely recognized as the preeminent educational institution for
those seeking a grounded and realistic approach to understanding
consciousness, existence, and the human condition. Our vision is a
world in which self-acceptance, self-responsibility, respect for free
will, and self-completeness lead to an increased awareness and
knowledge of the human condition and human potential thereby producing
and promoting peaceful coexistence among all peoples. We envision IMHS
concepts and principles inspiring students to make a positive
difference in their own lives as well as in the lives of those within
their sphere of influence thus spreading positive change throughout
the planet.
We hope to see you soon as one of our students!
About the Founder
Douglas
R. Kelley, PhD, CH, CSL
Founder and President
The Institute of Metaphysical Humanistic Science Degree Program is
administered under the direction and tutelage of Dr. Douglas Kelley
who has spent nearly four decades learning, developing, and teaching metaphysical concepts that
can be applied to one's life whether secular or spiritual. He
has trained, coached, and counseled thousands of people from all walks
of life including managers, ministers, and leaders. He has
blended ground-breaking metaphysical concepts with practical life and business
skills to create the IMHS Metaphysics Degree Program as well as
compelling certificate courses at the International
College of Humanistic Science.
In addition to a PhD in Metaphysical Science, he is a Certified Hypnotist (CH), Certified Seminar Leader (CSL), and an accomplished professional
speaker, trainer, life coach, spiritual counselor, minister, and author of
numerous published books and
courses in the fields of human development, metaphysics, leadership,
relationships, and anomalous research. IMHS is the result of his profound universal calling
to establish an educational organization to explore,
research, and teach the full spectrum of metaphysical and metapsychological concepts
for the potential benefit of all humanity.
About Our Logo
Some
have asked about the meaning of the IMHS logo, variations of which are used by IMHS parent
International Church of Metaphysical Humanism, the
International Metaphysical Practitioners Association (IMPA), and our
related schools. The
logo was designed with a specific meaning and has evolved over many
years. Some have wondered whether it implies some type of secret occult
society, however, this could not be further from the truth. Here is an
explanation of each part of the logo:
Triquetra
"Triquetra"
(tra'kee-tra) basically means "triangle" and has been used by many
ancient peoples and belief systems over recorded history including
Christianity and Paganism (a pagan is a person who is not a Christian,
Jew, or Muslim). This symbol is used in our logo to represent three
fundamental skills necessary for one to reach his or her full potential:
Self-Acceptance; Self-Responsibility; and Respect for Free Will, and
these three are interconnected by a never-ending line. These three
elements then synergistically create Self-Completeness. Collectively,
this model is known as the Life Leadership ParagonTM and is a fundamental
belief system of the International Church of Metaphysical Humanism. These skills are also taught in IMHS Institute
courses and it forms the foundation of Life Leadership Coaching--a
Transpersonal Approach to Self-Completeness taught in our PhD Degree
Program.
Pentagram
Likewise,
the pentacle or pentagram in the center can be traced to all forms of
religion including Christianity and Paganism. Many Christians
incorrectly associate the symbol with Satanism or with the Star of David
from Judaism. This symbol is used in our logo to represent
Self-Completeness (self-actualization).
Three Arrows
The
three arrows graphic represents personal growth, positive evolution, and
the freedom of choice for one to pursue his or her individual destiny
and purpose. The three arrows point up, but in different directions
representing freedom of choice. The lower red arrow represents the
beginning of our journey without much enlightenment, but then we gain
more and more as we grow, as represented by the green arrow.
Three
Circles
The three circles
in the background simply represent the mind, body, and spirit,
and these three are simply aspects of the whole person.
